was hit with more charges in michigan. he's suspected of a series of stabbings in virginia, ohio and michigan. today prosecutors in flaunt have charged him with murder and assaults. these new charges are in addition to the attempted murder charges he's also facing in michigan. >> we have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that this occurred and the defendant is the person responsible. we'll get there. we're being careful, methodical. i have a tremendous team of law enforcement working with us and i'm confident we'll be able to be successful. >> abuelazam pled not guilty today. >>> we have the condition of a doctor shot at hopkins last week. orthopedic surgeon david cohen is in good condition and continues to improve. he was shot by the son of an elderly patient being treated at the hospital last thursday. police say the gunman, 50-year- old paul warren pardus became distraught after being told about his mother's condition and he shot and killed his mother and then himself. >>> the only woman on virginia death row, the only way theresa lewis will survive is a reprieve from the dis

night, or cool. 66 in downtown d.c. well we start off school for a lot of kids in virginia and that moms like me bus stop forecast. you might say mild. a touch of a cool spot from 68 and down to the 70s notice 7:00 or 8:00 hour. taking you through the rest of the afternoon on tuesday. temperatures warming up to near 90. there is a code yellow air quality. a touch of pollution. 85 still on temperature. and warm 90 in culpeper. and most of us dropping into the 80s and 70s. and the winds picking up, 10-15 miles per hour tomorrow. might be a touch of humidity notice coming back in. here is the front here in the mid morning. 8:00 is when our future cast shows that to arrive. there might be a passing shower. slightest chance. most likely a bank of clouds. not bad by the afternoon. a lot of sunshine. a west to northwest breeze picking up and cooler air rushing into thursday and into next weekend. highs in the 70s, lows into the 50s. that's for the district. outer suburbs will be pushing into the 40s for a low for that time. and we could bring showers in as soon as saturday. i'm keeping them out

, thank you. >> this one in virginia. and they were saying there was no sign of the accelerant here. they are just not sure what caused a fire to kill anita brikman mother and two of her children. they are still on the story and peggy, we know that three other children survived. what do we know about them and how they are doing tonight? >> reporter: well, the twod older children, an 8-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, they are both fine tonight. and in fact, they could have been released from children's hospital. and the father, they did not want to leave, so they will all be released tomorrow. now, take a look. this is the burning house that the three children escape from. the older two jumped out of the two-story window. and their mom, she was able to drop the baby into the arms of a friend. she saved those three kids lives, but she could not save herself or her 5-year-old. the family is trying to keep up the spirits by focusing on the three children that survived. and there is no smoke in their lungs. they are healthy, they were up day-to-day. the baby is doing great right now.

. people were everyone putting sandbags out to keep water from their homes. >>> over to virginia, they haven't had quite as much rain, but plenty of people are still trying to dry out. suray chin is live where she has been checking out all the damage there. >> the flooded streets are just down the road from here. the water came fast and furious on brownsmill road. when it comes to these types of conditions, the neighborhood is on edge. >> whenever we get a lot of rain like this, i am keeping my eye on the water, the river. >> kate gets nervous in the downpour. the creek that often overflows its banks runs along the home where she's a full-time nanny to three small children. >> it got pretty crazy, to be honest. we had a lot of flooding in the backyard. it became a river, and actually we are surrounded on all sides. we became an island with the neighbors. >> last month, high waters surrounded the home in the front, side, and backyard. today, a much better outlook. even the bridge that crumbled the last go around was in tact. thanks to vdot workers who helped clear debris acros

and west virginia, it's banned until further notice. what contributes to that is dry air, 11% humidity, and the wind. 25-mile per hour winds at national. 19 at andrews. 29 up in martinsburg and 28 in winchester. still a little bit gusty with the wind. they'll settle down a little bit. look at the relative humidity. it's up to 12% now. 15% in manassas and 17% at andrews. i mean that is some kind of drive for us. tonight, clear skies, breezy, and cooler. turn off the ac, open the windows. i wouldn't open the windows too far, though, or too much in the suburbs. low 50s tonight. low 60s downtown and winds calm down to a reasonable northwest 10 to 15. lows tonight inside the beltway, very comfortable. low to mid 60s and then 50s in college park. mid 50s in bowie. up to the north, 55 in reston and 53 in leesburg. tomorrow morning, mostly sunny, breezy and cool. 50s and 60s to start. and by afternoon, mostly sunny, breezy. spectacular. highs near 80 and winds northwesterly. next seven days, 79 tomorrow. breezy and spectacular. upper 70s on friday. low 80s on saturday. thank you for the e-mail
